A walk on the wild side
Escaping the winter chill, my wife and I took a great walk recently. It was colder than we would have liked, and we saw a few southern snowflakes.
I find being in a natural environment relaxes me. Listening to the sounds, seeing the beauty and symmetry has a soothing and calming effect.
Evidently a fellow beachcomber agrees…
The nice thing is I can get away from studying all those silly chart patterns.
I don’t think about pivots and horizontal support and resistance.
Trapped turtles on false breakouts aren’t even worth being considered.
Arches and geometry and proportion and all that math…just a distant memory.
By the way is it just me or is there symmetry here?
I can forget about Elliot waves.
Not even thinking about double tops. …Well, maybe a little…
I certainly don’t think about being road kill for the Boyz. I am a positive thinker.
Don’s jellies are not even in sight.
“We are hawks, not pigeons.” We make our own breaks by being humble students.
As Jim Rogers says, just walk over to a corner looking for the pile of money waiting to be picked up. The value of the dollar is the furthest thing from my mind.
Financially, I do want to keep my head above water, so I try to go with the trend.
Balance is essential.
Some formations have tails, some don’t.
Slim Jims are just a narrow way of thinking…
Repeat after me: Fractals are Fun.
Fibonacci sequences are math, and math is just a four letter word !
Running with the herd , even if we think there is safety in numbers, is risky business.
Not even aware of Higher highs.
Peaks and Vallis are market formations that I can forget about.

How do you learn best?
Step by Step?
Are you a sponge?
Can we learn from others and their experiences? Or do we have to make our own mistakes, as well as theirs?
Jk mentioned a book recently and I was trying to think of it. I was reading a post in Don Miller’s blog, and immediately recognized “The talent code” when I saw a post referencing this video. Great stuff. The book is ordered and on its way here.
Don’t forget the Tao of Poker that JK also mentioned. I am not a poker player, but will add it to my library that continues to grow. Don has referenced that book often, so I believe it is a worthwhile read to increase our brain power.
When someone in our profession makes that kind of accomplishment ($1.6 M in one year) we try to model his thoughts, actions, and behavior.
The bar in our mind can be raised.
When I am in the zone, I can already “see” the turns and flow of the market in my mind so clearly. I don’t even know how to describe it. When I was playing Golf at a more “serious” level, I could see my putts going in, even from 30′ away, as if the path to the hole was tatooed on my brain.
That’s what I mean by intuition.
(Note to self: That 17 footer I knocked in on the 5th hole was a great birdie.)
When I get my mind focused on the flow, then the fear part takes care of itself.
